9/4/2016: Rebecca's Private Idaho, Sun Valley, IDFor the 3rd year in a row, several BVW have participated in a tough, scenic, and amazing event in Ketchum, Idaho, called Rebecca's Private Idaho, hosted by Rebecca Rusch AKA The Queen of Pain. Teammates Erin M., Jessica, and Nadine ventured north to ride with 550 others into the remote Copper Basin, where even cell phones can't connect. The race consists of 50 or 100 mile routes, most of which is on roughly "maintained" gravel roads. This race is known to shred tires and cause multiple flat tires - on bikes and vehicles alike. The race leaves Ketchum riding NE over Trail Creek Summit, a short and steep accent mostly over 4 miles, before dropping into the Copper Basin area and then returning back the same way. For a beautiful aerial video of the course, visit Rebecca's Private Idaho http://www.rebeccasprivateidaho.com/. Those who completed the 50 mile race: Erin M on a cyclocross bike, and Nadine & Jessica for their second year on a tandem MTB. The weather cooperated, and they all finished without any flats or mechanicals (quite a feat). Nadine and Jessica also were the 1st tandem to finish, and beat their previous time by over 2 hours. Next year, 100 miles! 9/3/2016: David Douglas CX, Vancouver, WA Team member Anna traveled to Vancouver, WA this weekend for some regional competition. This cyclocross race is held in a beautiful, 88-acre community park. The Classic CX course offers lots of fast flat grass sections, paved trails, gravel, forest single track, fast drop-in’s and lung busting run-ups. Something for everyone! Anna dominated the course with a Cat 3 1st place podium finish! Not only does she kick butt locally, but she also can beat the regional competition to the podium. Looking forward to watch her in our local CX races! Hup Hup Anna!
