Treasure Valley Grand Prix: 7/15/-7/17/2016, Boise, ID

Every Summer, Criterium season ends with a bang at the ASWB Banducci Twilight Criterium and Idaho State Criterium Championships. This year, both races became part of the Treasure Valley Grand Prix, adding a time trial to Friday night, and adding collaboration and excitement with the hand-cycling community.  Read more for the deets!

7/15: Time Trial in Caldwell, Idaho

Friday included a hot and windy 9.3 mile time trial along Lake Lowell in Caldwell, Idaho. The down and back format added excitement when you could see your competition close ahead or turning around.
Results
Cat 3: Tiedji Baker, 3rd place
Cat 4: Erin Shelton 1st; Joy Adams 3rd; Nadine Carter 4th; Morgan Cornwall 5th; Jessica Grunke 8th.

7/16: ASWB Twilight Criterium, Boise, ID

The Course

HeEach summer, Boise comes out by the thousands to witness hundreds of cyclists, amateur and pro alike, to race around downtown during this adrenaline-pumping crit. ​This year, the event was made even more exciting due to a new course that included Capitol Park located on three of four sides of the course - with a beer garden. We had 8 women participate and finish, and had a great time! Here's a great video from our Team Clif Bar friends about their experience: Video
As we work to find equality in prizes and support for women's racing, we have to recognize those supporters, new and old who support us!! Thank you to Shu's Idaho Running Company and Run with Brian for their continued support of our team, and for rallying to provide cash prizes for this race. Also, we have a new supporter who graciously donated prizes for our race Primes, Athleta, who's mission says it all "Alone we are strong, united we thrive. Together we create the Power of She."
Without these sponsors of the Cat 2/3/4 Women's race, there would have been no prizes for our hard work! Thank you for making a difference.

7/17: Idaho State Criterium Championship, Hidden Springs, ID

The final criterium of the year is the Idaho State Crit Champs, held in Hidden Springs near Boise. This race takes place in a lovely planned community with Arts & Crafts styled homes, tree lined sidewalks, and people cheering from their front porches. This course is extra challenging due to its shape, which is not a traditional square/loop.  Though many of our members were tired from Twilight the night before, 6 showed up and raced strongly, working together to sweep the podium!

Cat 1/2/3: Anna M. 8th
Cat Masters 35+: 2nd Tiedji B.
