June has been full of dedication, determination, loads of fun and rewards for hard work. The Boise VeloWomen, through our love of cycling, have trained hard for these challenges and tested our strengths. Events include the Lyle Pearson 200 and Mike Mercy Memorial 2016 Idaho State Time Trial. Boise VeloWomen have also been busy participating in various charity rides, Hubbard TTs and SWICA Crits. Information on these is coming soon!
The cycling community has suffered a tragic loss this month with the death of Ryan Franklin. Ryan was an active member of the cycling community, both in the Magic Valley and in the Treasure Valley. He is survived by his wife and four young children. The BVW board have made a donation to the Ryan Franklin Memorial Fund to help support his family in their time of loss.
May is the doorway to Summer - most nights are filled with bike adventures of some variety. Our ladies will spend most of the summer attending almost daily events, including the Tuesday night TNT rides, SWICA Criteriums, Wednesday Night Short Track MTB race series, Dirt Dolls casual MTB rides, Spinderellas casual road rides, and weekends of racing.
Some events are competitive, some are for supporting/mentoring other riders, but all include loads of fun on 2 wheels. We will do our best to have updates every couple weeks! The Boise VeloWomen were VERY busy this month, competing in various events, disciplines, and in several different states! Read below for results for Tour of Walla Walla in Washington; Sea Otter Classic in California; The Race to Robie Creek 1/2 Marathon in Boise, Idaho; Bengal Triathlon in Pocatello, ID; and Sagebrush Scramble XC MTB race in Boise, ID!
